Community Education and Outreach

Internships
AFSSA hosts internships for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Internships will vary based on need and capacity, so please check back frequently. Internship Applicants should be eligible for work-study (or other school funding) or course credit.
Currently, we are seeking Summer and Fall Interns for the following:
Prevention Intern – The prevention intern assists our prevention advocate with curriculum development & updates, program metrics, and strategic brainstorming. The intern will also attend and assist with documentation at in-school prevention sessions and community events, supporting the Community Education & Outreach team. They have great communication skills and are passionate about community involvement.
Public Policy Intern – The Public Policy Intern assists the Public Policy Fellow and Communications Team with tracking and analyzing data, monitoring policy, as well as assisting with AFSSA’s statewide coalition and other administrative tasks as assigned. They are highly detail oriented and motivated to learn.
Development Intern – The Development Intern assists the Fund Development Coordinator and Development Team with tracking and analyzing data from donations and philanthropic grants, as well as assists with event planning and other administrative tasks as assigned. They are highly detail oriented and motivated to learn about non-profit development and administration.
